Do you truly love yourself? How much love do you have for yourself? Not the narcissistic 'Aren't I wonderful' kind of love, but the essential regard for self that empowers you and helps you navigate through life. The type of love that enables you to feel safe and secure in who you are and inspires you to make choices that are good for your authentic self. When scientist David Hamilton realized that his own lack of self-love was sabotaging him in hundreds of subtle ways and more than a handful of major ways, he devised an experiment using himself as the guinea pig. For more than a year David studied the latest research into brain chemistry, neuroscience, and psychotherapeutic and personal development techniques. He realized that self-love was as much about biology as psychology - that self-worth is in our genes, but trained out of us. The biological drive to seek connection with others often leads us to try to be 'someone else' to win love and approval. But the brain can be reprogrammed, and David devised 27 powerful exercises that he tested on himself and presents in the book to help you: · Increase your own level of self-worth · Connect powerfully with your authentic self · Attain a greater sense of happiness and general wellbeing · Create stronger and more real connections with others
My Life in Secret is a memoir of an adult child of an alcoholic parent and how she finds her light; realizing it was always within her. Whom It May Concern: It’s not easy being me. My heart has been broken. I’m living in hell. No one loves me. No one cares. I fear. I fear. I fear. What’s with all the stares? To Whom It May Concern: Having no friends is no easy matter. For the sake of my well-being, please, please, please be kind. Yes, I’m going to try. It seems I’ve been frozen in time. I get queasy wishing it were all so easy. To Whom It May Concern: My soul has scars. People are cruel. I don’t know what to do. I’m all alone, often put in a corner for all to see. I cry and cry and cry and cry, even though I don’t know why. If God is real, why can’t I heal?
Radical thinker and writer Emma Goldman presents her life story and memories in Living My Life, first published in 1931. Originally two volumes, it is published here as a combined edition. From her arrival in New York as a 20-year-old seamstress, when she immediately launched into a life of activism and public agitation, she recalls her childhood in Lithuania, her immigration to the U.S. as a teenager, and her wild adventures as an independent and intelligent woman. An important and influential figure in such far-flung geopolitical events as the Russian Revolution and the Spanish Civil War, Goldman is one of the most storied people of the 20th century. And her story, in her own inimitable words, is one of the great biographies, and one of the great personal histories of a turbulent era. Anarchist and feminist EMMA GOLDMAN (1869-1940) is one of the towering figures in global radicalism of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in Lithuania, she emigrated to the United States as a teenager, was deported in 1919 for her criticism of the U.S. military draft in World War I, and died in Toronto after a globetrotting life. An early advocate of birth control, women's rights, and workers' unions, she was an important and influential figure in such far-flung geopolitical events as the Russian Revolution and the Spanish Civil War. Among her many books are My Disillusionment in Russia (1925) and Living My Life (1931).

Each chapter includes an inspirational story, a key lesson and how to apply it to daily life.

This book emerged from years of feeling that something was missing in my life. My inability to feel love as others did towards me or when I was the one who felt love; the other did not.I have been trying to go back in my life to thank all the people who have touched my life in some manner. There are many people that have enriched my life and I have always held them close to my heart. But there is always that one person that you hold even closer, I called her Sandy...I lost touch with her back in 1979 and wanted to find her. I was searching through the websites for her name when an article popped-up about Sondra Lee Y...I read it and started crying, this was my Sandy. She is gone from earth forever, but not from my heart and mind. She died June 4, 2000.I was too late to say the things I never said, "I never forgot you, and thank you for enriching my life with your presence in mine."
This book is my survival guide. I have written about abuse, my MS, family, other people and nature in the many ways they have and do effect me. I write as I feel and see. These writings have freed me and may they guide you too.
Volume 2 of the candid, no-holds-barred account by foremost American anarchist Goldman continues with the fascinating story of her life, the anarchist movement, her famous contemporaries, and their influential ideas.
Every day people awake thinking they can do things their way. Maybe you were on the right path with God, and you turned away. Suddenly things that were once going well now are going downhill. Those who were your so-called friends have turned their backs on you. Why? Because you lost everything when you placed someone or something ahead of God. This includes your family. I encourage people to write. I have found it to be a form of therapy. A way to express myself out loud. This book represents a group of poems from my Spiritual Guidance Collection about my life that I experienced during the good and bad times. Someone might say the poems are a conversation with God, a form of prayer. My hope is that everyone who reads this book will find their way back to God the Creator.
Its a true story. I was born in the middle of the War .and. the horrible years growing up and the after years coming out alive,.thanks to my wonderful mother guiding me through all the bad times.
